The Quite Contrary Garden

Urban Flower Farm & Veggie Patch in Kansas City, Missouri

What We Grow

Seasonal Vegetables

We grow a variety of veggies from spring through fall. Depending on the season, examples may include lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, hot peppers, eggplant, greens, or sweet peppers, among many others. Our local, naturally-grown, seasonal produce is grown without harmful chemicals and is available in our Veggie CSA membership shares.

Local Flowers

Over 80% of cut flowers in America are imported from overseas. We challenge this unsustainable system by growing beautiful local blooms. Depending on the season, examples of our offerings may include zinnias, cosmos, calendula, sunflowers, coneflowers, and many others. Our cut flowers and arrangements are available as a Flower CSA membership.

Fresh Herbs

We offer a variety of fresh, seasonal herbs that are both edible and lovely in flower arrangements. Depending on the season, examples may include basil, cilantro, dill, sage, rosemary, thyme, as well as many other herbs and edible flowers and plants. Our herbs are grown without the use of harmful chemicals and you will find them in both our Veggie and Flower CSA membership shares.
